KitchenAid KM25G0XWH Commercial Series 5-Quart Stand Mixer, White

Friday, June 11th, 2010

I am disappointed in the quality of this mixer. This is my second commercial kitchen aid mixer. The first lasted many years and was used in a commercial setting(bakery/restaurant). The bowls are now not interchangeable with the new mixer so I now have three obsolete bowls. And, the motor is very loud. I am forced to purchase this mixer because there are not any others out there with this size. I’m sure to keep the cost down corners have had to be cut. It’s one of the sad results of consummerism and overseas production.Purchased this mixer to replace an older one at my workplace. Seems to be every bit as good as the one it replaced, but really the true test comes in time after years of abuse in a professional kitchen. Initial quality is on par with other KitchenAid mixers. read more.

KitchenAid KSM152PSNK Custom Metallic Series 5-Quart Mixer, Brushed Nickel

This has and always will be a great tool for the kitchen. With the attachments it is useful for almost everything.

BEST QUALITY. GREAT VESATILITY AND ENOUGH POWER TO KNEAD BREAD WITHOUT BOGGING DOWN. A LIFETIME APPLIANCE. GIFT PURCHASE. OUR PERSONAL KITCHEN AID IS 15 YEARS OLD. WORKS LIKE DAY 1.This mixer looks nice but that’s about it (I purchased the chrome model). This mixer wasn’t able to handle a 2 lb. bread recipe. The motor would freeze up on me and when the mixer finally decided to work a little, the the dough would climb up the hook. I had to manually hold the top of the mixer down because the mixer’s locking latch would release after a few turns of the hook. I had pieces of metal and black grease throughout my dough plus…the bowl would tighten up to a point where I would have to hammer it loose. I’ve been a professional baker for over 20 years and I’ve never seen such a worthless mixer.I’ve only had the mixer for a month, but I love it. I plan on having her for a very long time. I have been waiting 14 years to get one and my hubby finally got me this one for my birthday in October. I named her Molly the Mixer. I fell in love with the chrome finish. She was a little more expensive because of her color but totally worth it!! I like this model with the head tilt better then the lift because I have more space to pour in the I ingredients. She’s beautiful and matches all the stainless steel appliances. I would recommend her to anyone! Happy mixing.I got this for my birthday last year, and I use all the time- for everything from breads, pizza dough and cookies to cakes, frostings, fillings and whipped cream. It has endless possibilities! The 5-quart seems to be big enough for my use. I can’t imagine having a bigger one as this one is so powerful! I never use the pouring shield though, as it seems to be more of a nuisance than a help. The nickel color looks great with stainless steel appliances. It is worth the money. I got the ice cream maker attachment which is fun too, though I do not use it very often. read more.

New Metro Design Beater Blade for KitchenAid 5-Quart Tilt-Head Mixers, Pink

Friday, March 19th, 2010

The Beater Blade was difficult to clean, and was not any better than the standard KitchAid blade in mixing batters. I loaned it to some friends to try, and they all did not like using this product. A waste of money.I was so tired of the kitchen aid steel blades I was using. The enamel kept chipping off so I knew I needed to try something different. This blade is great. It is sturdy plastic with rubber scrapers on the outside. I barely had to stop the mixer to get all the batter off the side of the bowl. I did it once while making a cheesecake but I didn’t even need to. I would recommend this product, it’s a great invention, I wish I would have thought of it!This beater blade works great! I think I am going to purchase another to have as extra. My biggest problem with the standard beater that came with the mixer was that it didn’t scrape the sides and there was always a little bit of unmixed ingredients at the bottom of the bowl. That is no longer a problem after using this.It works really well for keeping things from sticking to the sides… I hate when flour won’t combine without constant scraping and this solves it. My only concern is that it’s made out of hard plastic with silicon scrapers I would have preferred metal like the one that comes with the mixer but so far it’s stood up well under several months of moderate use.I absoluely love this product. I was reluctant to purchase it because it didn’t seem as though KitchenAid endorsed it but I wanted to try it based on “satisfied customer” reviews. I’ve had it about a year and have not used the standard paddle attachment since. I make a lot of cakes and cookies. I don’t need to stop the mixer any more, get batter all over my hands and fingers or scrape anything down. The Beater Blade incorporates all batters and additions exceptionally well. The KitchenAid stand mixer is great, but with the addition of the Beater Blade I find I’m using the appliance more often and it’s a more enjoyable experience. And Amazon had the best price! read more.
